[catching up again…AGAIN!]

don’t laugh!!!  we’ve been s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d thin the past few years.  we are still here.  still making the main thing (making memories with our own families and enjoying photography when we can fit it in) the main thing.  still taking on occasional work when time will permit.

if you’re interested in our work or in checking our availability, the quickest way to get a response from us is through facebook.  we are TERRIBLE about checking email.  we are in the early planning stages of some really FUN, local summer and fall events so keep watch for announcements about limited sessions happening later this year!

be blessed!!!!

{wowza!!!!!}

has it really been TWO WHOLE YEARS since we updated this blog!?

so much has happened in two years, so many faces have been seen through our lens, yet so many things took priority over blogging.  things like having babies, building houses, new jobs, new ventures, transitions, celebrations, and some not so happy times thrown in the mix.  still, here we are! capturing memories. documenting births and wedding days. chasing kids. rolling around in the grass to get the best perspective. and still loving every minute of it.  we sat down to try and catch up but there were just too many sessions to blog.  instead, we’d like to direct folks to our private facebook page and invite you to follow us on facebook to stay up to date with our portrait parties and availability. you can find us here:

there are a lot of exciting things on the horizon for our clients and followers. stay tuned… you won’t be disappointed!

the remaining saturday date and theme is as follows:
•november 30: christmas in the city (glitzy backdrop, dressy holiday attire, could also double as new years cards)

round three will be held on november 30th in bristol, florida at mission 180 on highway 20.  we have just 2 available appointment times remaining so be sure to let us know asap if you’d like to book us on this day!   below is the inspiration board that we created for this event.  (again, these images are not our own but some we’ve pinned from pinterest to help you catch our vision.) this will be an indoor studio-type shoot complete with an ornate white and gold “wall”  we’ve built just for these sessions.  we’ll be throwing in a black and white chevron rug and a variety of baroque style chairs and props to add sparkle.  this set will lend itself to semi-formal and dressy attire, although jeans and solid shirts will work also.

ge·net·ics

[juh-net-iks]

noun ( used with a singular verb )

1. biology . the science of heredity, dealing with resemblances and differences of related organisms resulting from the interaction of their genes and the environment.
when hannah and i (hilary) left the grantham home last week, we both commented on how we felt the session had gone and how we hoped we had truly captured the “sweetness” that’s all packaged up in raleigh’s little already-developing personality.  as i edited the imagery we were privileged to get, i secretly marveled at how truly amazing a newborn is and how genetics and environment play such a huge role in the outcome of a child’s disposition and appearance.  as i studied the images, i could see the same quiet reflection in raleigh’s eyes that i see in both of her parents’.  she was calm and very alert…gazing at her mommy with what seemed to be sheer admiration and already curious about her surroundings.  i think i can almost predict that she’s going to love books like her grandma linda and be super intelligent like her mom and dad.  i’m predicting, that she will have lots of opportunities to throw a baseball and shoot hoops with her daddy, plenty of tennis matches with her aunt deneen, and a few backyard flag football games with her uncle grant and cousins.  one day we may even see her sitting in her grandma nancy’s salon getting her hair fixed only to hop on her grandpa laban’s motorcycle to get it all messed up.  i can already see her crossing the finish line for her first mega-marathon with her aunt nikki and mom cheering her across the finish line!   i’ll bet she learns a lot about eating healthy and staying fit…and i think she’ll have lots of internal motivation and be very well-rounded.  i’m not prophesying…just “genetically speaking”.
